During this morning’s assembly, 4th – 8th grade students, teachers, host families, Superintendent Rick Fauss, Assistant Superintendent, Robert Adams and a handful of district office staff gathered to welcome 18 Chinese Culture Exchange students and their two accompanying teachers.
The exchange students are from Shuicheyuan Primary School in Lanzhou, China. They arrived in Redding on Saturday afternoon and are staying with host families from Turtle Bay School.
These students will attend classes’ along-side our students during the week. They will also attend Whiskeytown Environmental School (WES Camp) next week along with our Turtle Bay 5th graders, before heading back to China. This is a wonderful experience for all involved!
Principal AJ Anderson was presented a banner from the Head Master of Shuicheyuan Primary School. The banner states the following Chinese message: ”Knowledge is Freedom.”
A big thank you goes out to Foreign Exchange Coordinator Jessica French, the host families for opening up their homes and to the wonderful Chinese Culture Exchange students.
